Athletic Development Program members, and sisters, Brooklyn and Keira stole the crowd at the Victoria Highland Games over May long weekend. Brooklyn placed 1st overall in the U10 category and Keira placed 3rd overall in the U13 category in the Open Championships of Irish Dance! The Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival Feis (feis meaning Irish Dance competition) is one of the oldest festivals in North America and one of the very few 3 full day Highland Games. The festival regularly attracts around 25,000 people to the Topaz Park events each year.
Athletic Development Training for Irish Dance
Brooklyn and Keira are part of a dance school called “Scoil Rince De Danaan”. They originally came to Function Health to become stronger and more powerful for dance. The main focus of their programming is for Brooklyn and Keira to become stronger while still maintaining the grace and agility they need for their style of dance. Function Health Club provides the girls with neurological drills to enhance their flexibility and overall ability to perform complex dance moves at a high caliber.
The Athletic Development Program coaches in Coquitlam provide the girls with neurological drills based off of Z-Health training principles. Z-Health embraces neuro biomechanics to maximize results for athletes.
We’re excited to see how Brooklyn and Keira grow and improve through ADP!
