GETTING STARTED IN A PERSONAL TRAINING PROGRAM
Whether you’re an athlete looking to get stronger, a new mom ready to get back in shape, or completely new to working out, we have personal training programs already designed for you. At Function Health Club, we support people on their fitness journey by providing them with a strong foundation so they can be independent in the pursuit of their best selves. We guide our members to consider the intention of each workout and to challenge themselves in a safe and productive way.
New to group fitness
For those new to group fitness, we will walk you through our foundations classes prior to your first group fitness class. These are one-on-one personal training program sessions with a trained coach where you will learn basic movements to prepare you for group fitness classes.
Transferring from another gym
If you have previous experience with group fitness classes and are familiar with the structure and movements, contact us today so we can discuss your experience and book you into one of our classes.

I started personal training with Caroline in 2014 and am the strongest I’ve ever been. A ski accident in 2011 had left me with a bad knee, weakness on one side and range of motion limitations that greatly affected my quality of life. Despite 2 years of physio and then personal training at another gym, stairs still often gave me knee pain and I was considering moving to a rancher. In this prime time in life, between kids and grandkids, I was dismayed that the activities I now had time for – Skiing, cycling, gardening and long walks with my dog, were becoming out of reach. Working with Caroline, and the other trainers at Poco Crossfit, has been a game changer. Building strength and fitness didn’t happen overnight, but I could see improvements every month or two. At the start of this process, I had set a lifetime goal of achieving lifts to the “intermediate” level as set out in the Basic Strength Standards chart. It seemed like a lofty goal at the time, given that I couldn’t even get into a squat position without pain and did not come from a gym background. As 2018 is drawing to a close, I find I have to revise that goal as I’ve already met or exceeded that level in all my lifts. I give full credit to Caroline and her team. I’ve benefited greatly from their attention to detail, emphasis on form, deep knowledge of body mechanics and keen interest in keeping abreast of what is new on the human performance landscape. No matter how I feel when I get to the gym, I find I always feel better after my session. So thank you Caroline and your entire team, for 4 injury free years. Each time I step into my skis or onto my bike, I’m grateful.
