    About Lindsay Murray

    Lindsay is a passionate advocate of whole foods and nutrition education. She strongly believes that health starts with Nutrition and focuses on addressing her clients metabolic individuality in her coaching. Lindsay is a fully certified BCRPA personal trainer and a Registered Holistic Nutritionist since 2014.  Lindsay specifically has expertise in Sports Nutrition, Balancing hormones , stress management and Adrenal fatigue her main goal is to improve your relationship with food again to help you achieve your personal goals.  She enjoys the diversity that exists amongst her clients some need fine tuning and some are starting fresh. In her free time Lindsay loves to travel the world with her partner, hike with her two dogs and cook delicious meals for friends and family.

    Jena Fraser

    About Jena Fraser

    Jena has been a Registered Massage Therapist and practicing Strength and Conditioning Coach since 2010. Her foundational values for rehabilitation stem from the Model of Regional Interdependence – “a concept that seemingly unrelated impairments in a remote anatomical region may contribute to, or be associated with, the patient’s primary complaint”. Integrating movement education with manual therapy, Jena enjoys creatively problem solving dysfunctions which limit performance in sport and activity. While attending university, Jena worked for 3 years as the Athletic Trainer for the UBC Women’s Ice Hockey team, where she realized her passion for manual therapy and high level sports conditioning. Since then, Jena has worked with Provincial Figure Skaters,  National Women’s Soccer team,  NHL players, and Senior PGA golfers. Jena earned a Bachelors Degree in Human Kinetics (Exercise Science stream) from the University of British Columbia in 2008, and continued on to complete a Diploma of Massage Therapy from the West Coast Collage of Massage Therapy in 2010. After graduation, Jena was licensed by the College of Massage Therapy of British Columbia (CMTBC) as a Registered Massage Therapist, and certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  Jena places high value in continuing education and learning the subtleties of the human body and its mechanics. She has industriously attended courses for manual therapy, anatomy/physiology and strength conditioning. Currently, Jena is studying Osteopathy at the Canadian School of Osteopathy Manual Practice.

    Angela Loewen Houston

    Bachelor of Applied Health Science, Certified Athletic Therapist

    About Angela Loewen Houston

    Angela graduated from Sheridan College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Applied Health Science and then certified as an Athletic Therapist. Since then, she has been sought by athletes, academics, office workers, and construction workers to help them restore optimal health and performance. Angela has a wealth of experience working with orthopaedic surgeons on post operative cases ranging from debilitating back pain to knee and hip replacements. With such experience, Angela strongly values working in an environment with a variety of practitioners all unified by common principles.  Not only does she believe it makes her a better therapist, but that teamwork leads to better results for her clients.

    Angela has always been driven to improve her manual therapy skill set. In 2013 she started studying Osteopathy and has specialized training in cranial sacral therapy, kinesio taping, and visceral manipulation.  Angela believes that continuing education in these areas have enabled her to provide more comprehensive treatments to her clients.  In doing so, Angela has been able to follow her passion of providing a holistic treatment method that focuses on addressing the root causes of problems and less on treating their symptoms.

    Angela grew up playing competitive fastball and values the importance of movement.   She understands that the best way to optimize health and performance is to remove the restrictions that limit movement while empowering her clients to move more efficiently and move more often.

    When not working you will find Angela, hiking, spinning in the gym, seeking out new coffee shops, taking courses with her husband at Regent College, tending to her garden, or on the hunt for her next travel destination. Currently, she is preparing for her thesis and entering into her fifth and final year of Osteopathy at the Canadian School of Osteopathy in Vancouver.

    About Connie Sears

    Hello! I’m so excited to be able to say that I’m the resident Holistic Nutritionist R.H.N. here at Function Health Club and wanted to start by saying that I LOVE food and physical activity! I was a ballerina from age 3 to 16 and played a variety of sports all through grade school, soccer being a favourite. I learned that eating properly was a key element in having enough energy to keep up with my active lifestyle. Plus, I love eating and eating delicious foods. My interest in nutrition really began due to being lactose intolerant and learning about how to avoid certain foods. I began reading labels from a young age and started to understand what goes into the foods we eat. That led to a life-long interest in eating the best way for my body’s needs. As an adult and a vegetarian, I started to see just how important food is in keeping us happy and healthy. That led me obtaining my certification, so I could gain more understanding and share the things I’d learned with others. I believe in eating for balance and giving your body what it needs to function at its best. I’m here to support you with any healthy goals you may have, using an informative and positive approach. I look forward to working with you!
